The Green Jay is a tropical bird of the Americas and lives in two different regions, one from north of the Rio Grande River in Texas to Honduras and a second from Colombia and Venezuela through eastern Ecuador and Peru to Bolivia.
The spectacled owl is a large tropical owl native to the neotropics. It is a resident breeder in forests from southern Mexico and Trinidad, through Central America, to southern Brazil, Paraguay and northwestern Argentina.
The scarlet macaw is a large red, yellow, and blue Central and South American parrot, it is native to rainforests in Central and South America from Mexico to Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela and Brazil.
The Scrub Tanager is an almost endemic species for Colombia, is distributed between 500 and 2200 m above sea level throughout the Andean region with the exception of the eastern slope of the Eastern Cordillera. It is also found in the Andean area north of Ecuador.
The Black-billed Thrush, is one of the least colorful Colombian blackbirds, it is very common in man-occupied areas.
The Palm Tanager is one of the most widespread birds from central America to southern Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil. In Colombia it is found throughout the national territory up to 2100 m above sea level.
Yellow-bellied Seedeaters are common residents of grassland and agricultural areas from Costa Rica through to Brazil, although they are absent from much of the Amazon Basin. In Colombia is found throughout the Country except in drier regions north of the Andes and the Amazon.
The Black-throated Mango is a mainly South American hummingbird, very common in Colombia. It lives in open areas at the edge of forests and woodlands, and close to natural bodies of water.
The Black Phoebe, Sayornis nigricans, breeds from southwest Oregon and California through Central and South America.In Colombia it is found from 100 to 2800 m.a.s.l. in the three mountain ranges, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and in the Serranías de Perijá and la Macarena.
The Vermilion Flycatcher, Pyrocephalus rubinus is an unmistakable species because of the beautiful scarlet red color. Its name is a double reference to the red coloration of its plumage (pyro of fire, and cephalus, head, rubinus like ruby, the precious stone of deep red color).
