Full Bio
Victoria Restrepo is a Colombian photographer, artist, and storyteller with more than 40 years of experience and the fifth generation of photographers in her family. From her ancestors, she inherited a passion for creating images, a curiosity about the world, and a love of adventure and travel. Her deep connection with nature runs through her photography, watercolors, and writing.
Her work, brought together in part in her book Wonder, grows out of a particular way of seeing. Victoria describes herself as a “treasure hunter,” searching for what often goes unnoticed, from the light that transforms a bird’s plumage or a spiderweb covered in dew to the immensity of a forest, a star-filled sky, or ice in constant transformation. Through her images and stories, she invites us to slow down, look closely, and rediscover our capacity for wonder in the natural world.
Victoria is currently traveling overland through the Americas with her son Martín, a musician and violist, on a journey that began in Florida and took them as far as Newfoundland, across Canada to the Pacific coast, and now continues toward Mexico, Central America, and South America, with Patagonia as one of their great destinations. Along the way, Victoria documents landscapes, wildlife, cultures, and small stories through photography, watercolor, and her chronicles.
More than simply recording the places she passes through, her work explores our relationship with them. It is an invitation to discover the beauty that still surrounds us, even in what may seem insignificant, and to recognize both the privilege and the responsibility of living on a planet that, now more than ever, needs our attention and protection.
