The Pleasure of Wandering in Nature

The dictionary defines the word “wander” as walking from one place to another without a specific destination or a fixed direction. There is a significant difference between walking with a purpose and wandering for the sheer pleasure of walking.

The lack of a destination turns drifting in nature into a meditative state, and it is in these moments that I can discover what is around me.

Kaaterskill Falls

Yesterday, I walked in the beautiful forest of Kaaterskill Falls in New York, where the colors shone under the cloudless blue sky.

The shades of autumn glisten among the fallen leaves, an ant sipping nectar from a flower, the texture of old tree bark, a fern that has lost its color because it doesn’t receive sunlight but refuses to die.

A Symphony of Sights

The forest was a symphony of sights, sounds, and sensations. Each step revealed an intricate and delicate balance of life in the woods. It was a reminder that even without a specific destination, wandering could be a profound journey of exploration and appreciation.
