The Colombian Cloud Forest, Walking Among Birds

Cloud forests are the most beautiful natural gardens in Colombia. They extend over the highest mountains of both the Andes and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

These forests are permanently wrapped in a dense fog of tiny water drops that create a natural greenhouse effect, allowing the most amazing plants to grow.

Only 1% of the forest areas on the planet are cloud forests, which are generally found in the equatorial zones, between 5,000 and 10,000 feet above sea level.
