I love photography! I can spend endless hours finding a perfect frozen leaf, or little shiny raindrops splashing on the leaves. I seek for beauty on a seamlessly cloudy sky, in the striking force of a storm, or the smooth movement of a waterfall.

I am a treasure hunter. I look for the bright blooming flowers in spring, the fragrant blossoms and juicy fruits in summer, the amazing colors of leaves in autumn, and the endless forms of ice during the winter months.

The camera, the tripod and my digital darkroom are just my tools, but I mostly work with light, my imagination and my own memories.

My photographs are poised between reality and illusion, and through them I face the same challenges that artists have been facing for centuries: how to get a perfect balance between color and transparency, light and shadow, texture and delicacy, and also how to express a profound desire to attract and deceive the viewer.

Victoria is an accomplished professional photographer as well as an artist, with over 30 years of experience; she specializes in fine art, nature and travel photography. She studied fine arts in Colombia and photography at The New England School of Photography, in Boston. She has worked as a Commercial Photographer and as a photography and Photoshop teacher.

She was born in Colombia, South America, a magical place where mountains, gigantic rivers, deserts and rainforests run into the oceans. This fierce nature and the vibrant colors from her native Country are always present in her work. She works with light, her imagination and her own memories creating imaginary still lifes and landscapes, mixing photography, painting, and digital art.

Photography has always been around her. Her grandfather, her great-grandfather and her great-great-grandfather were some of the earliest photographers in South America and the Caribbean. The smell of the photographic chemicals, and the magical darkness of her family lab marked her life forever.

Victoria speaks at camera clubs, judges photographic competitions, teaches photography and Photoshop, and has an art studio for children.

I wanted to express the club’s appreciation for an outstanding judging performance.   The informal comments that I was hearing after the meeting were all very positive.   The group really did appreciate the informative comments that you provided about each image. Several folks were appreciative that you took the effort to view the digital images in Photoshop in order to provide insightful suggestions for improvement.

Just wanted to thank you again for the splendid job of judging you did for our club last evening. You are one of the absolutely very best judges we've ever had. Your comments on color and color balance, on composition, on contrast, on focus -- from both a technical and aesthetic standpoint -- were extremely valuable to all of us.

I just wanted to thank you again for bringing your expertise and artist's eye to the Silver Spring Camera Club. We are so pleased you could judge our year-end competition -- and your selections were dazzling.
We especially appreciated a view into your Winter Kaleidoscope and the magical, poetic visions of icy landscapes, large and small.

• She is very personable and entertaining. I think she had a very strong base in May 3, 2012 12:34 PM Photoshop which might have been a good expert program. The photographyconcepts were good for a novice group.

• She not only demonstrated great skill in every aspect of both capture and post-processing but she also conveyed her great passion for her craft and for the subjects of her photography.

• One does not find many photographers who speakof "love" for their subject matter. That was very refreshing to hear from a professional of her high accomplishment. I also really enjoyed her frank discussions of the high utility she finds in various post-processing applications, which she ably demonstrated as providing important contributions to her efforts at creative expression with her photography.

• She clearly uses these post- processing tools to integrate her vision of combining her training and instincts as both a photographer and an artist (in the painting tradition). Wonderful!!!
